There are plenty of sights to see along the road trip from Isan to Chiang Mai. Trevor was fascinated by the spirit houses and he had to stop to take a look.

• Spirit houses date back to thousands of years ago.
• The idea is to build a spirit house outside the home to protect it.
• The Thai people offer incense, fruit, rice and flowers to keep the spirits happy.
• Sometimes spirit houses are built on the road. The theory is that the spirits will not endanger the drivers who pass if the spirits had a place to live. Some spirit houses were built to pacify the spirits of those who have died on the road.
• These spirit houses can be seen outside homes and businesses throughout Thailand.
